I do not quite agree with Bilal. On the one hand, Lebanon was never a French colony, but a country under French mandate, meaning that very very few French people settled in Lebanon, mostly civil servants and military, and people did not change their family names to suit the situation ! However, your great-grand-mother might have had a French, or Belgian, father which would explain the name Aubin. In French this name means "white".
