Greetings, all!

I have taken much interest lately in my mother's family history from Lebanon. I came across this page, and found this quite interesting. My mother is full Lebanese. Her mother's father's last name was Norseffe (and what makes this forum more interesting to me is that his name prior to coming to America was Faris; for some reason he changed this to Norseffe when he entered the country). Her mother's last name was Saady. They settled in Richmond, Virginia upon arriving in America. From what I understand from my grandmother, she believes that they came from the Tripoli area. There are no Saady's left in Richmond that I know of. I saw discussion of Michigan in this forum. I know that my grandmother has relatives in Michigan, but I don't know exactly who they are. I will ask her when I am home for Christmas. Also, I have done some research, and found a lot of Saady's in the Tripoli area (I have actually spoken with a few on Facebook). Does anyone on here know anything about the Saady's that had a relative come to Richmond, Virginia? I believe her first name is Mary, but I would have to check on this to confirm.

It could be that my great-grandmother was married before she came to America, which might be why there are no other Saady's that I know of in the Richmond area.

I am studying Arabic now, and I hope to travel to Lebanon in the near future. I would love to know where my family originated.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!
Scott Cravey
