Dear Kathleen,
Please remember that Lebanon was subjected to the Turkish rule - under the Othoman Empire for 400 years. Many immigrants were registered as "Turkish" when actually they came from Lebanon.
Note my father's name is Emile - which is a French name. He was born in 1925.
