Kalifeh and Zoghby Families
Posted by: Stephen Kalifeh (ID *****9834) Date: December 31, 2005 at 08:51:54

I am trying to put together family history. I know that my grandparents immigrated to the US from Lebanon (Beirut-Zoghbys) and (Hasbayya - Kalifehs) in the late 1890s to 1903. They were Mohanna Kalifeh and Mary Zoghby. They came over with my grandmother's father - Saleem (who was married to Badra) and her uncle, Khalil Zoghby and my grandfather, Mohanna Kalifeh. We're not sure about the spelling of our last name as we believe it was changed when they came into the country. We understand that they left family in Lebanon. Plus we understand that my grandfather (Mohanna Kalifeh) had two brothers who went to San-Paulo, Brazil in the early 1900s and at least one brother stayed in Lebanon. We hear that this brother was killed in an accident. Plus there was a sister that we do not know her name. If anyone knows anything, we would love to connect. Thanks!
