Hello Mary Anne,
I am in the same boat with you, my Grandmother came from Cuba to Haiti, and alot of christian Lebanese around the late 1800s went to the Island because of the Ottoman period.
Constantine sounds like a Christian name to me, ao as Abraham. Alot of Lebanese Christians choose Christian name, and French names. My best advice to give you is to find familt clues. Ask your grandmother or grandfather more about the family. What type of Faith they had, what was the other family member names that came with him?
I think I saw the name constantine on a record, of the Ottman period. I will try to find it and give you the link.
If you have any questions feel free to contact me.
