Looking for info on Lebanon? I found the following to be very helpful. "A House of Many Mansions" by Kamal Salibi. On the Internet you can locate some of it at:

By the way, my Lebanese grandmother's American name was Rose and it did not translate from her Lebanese name. Not really sure who or when the name Rose was given to her.
