Hi
Saad Family is a big family in Lebanon.
There are christians and muslims.
I beleive you belong to a christian family because of the name of your father, Probably you are a greek orthodox (nicholas is a common greek orthodox name) but there are maronites and catholics too.
Your early origins go back to Lebanon. In the early 90s, under the turkish occupation, mount Lebanon was part of Great syria (which includes Israel -Palestine- too).
Christians of mount Lebanon have claimed autonomy for centuries till they got in in their homeland Lebanon after turkish left. When you grandfather migrated in the last century, he used to be identified as syrian or turkish since that is what was mentioned on his ID card. With the rise of the lebanese identity, he are all know as lebanese.
Christians of mount Lebanon migrated 100 years ago to escape turkish oppression. The strory says that more than 100 000 persons left (half of the population at that time).
