Hi Ariel! Stambulie is a surname and adjective which means the person who comes from Istanbul (we say New Yorker for the person who comes from New York and Colombian for the man who comes from Colombia …) as these examples in spoken Arabic Stambulie means the person from Istanbul.
Could you give me more correct pronunciation of Yacaman? It's strange in a way.
Today there are more than 300000 Armenian live in Syria and Lebanon, (Especially in Aleppo and Beirut),we call them Armenian Syrians because they are from Armenian origin, most of them speak Armenian they live in Syria from ancient time and they speak Arabic and intermarriage with other Christians of Syria and Lebanon. Before WW1 there were about 1,5 million of Armenians lived in Northern parts in Syria ( in Cilicia, Aleppo, Edesse, Malatia and many other provinces), they were living peacefully with Arabs and many of them were married with other Christians in the Area, but Turkish army massacred the majority of them and the rest fled to Lebanon , Syria, and Europe.
Best regards
Jack
