I am from Tripoli, Lebanon ( Koubbe area ). We have both Helou and Barakat in Koubbe.

The Helou ( meaning beautiful, sweet ) is a very well famed family in Lebanon, most notabily the ex-President of Lebanon Charles Helou .

In Koubbe, the family ancestor is Ibrahim Helou. It was said that he was from the Dib family ( my family ) , but since he was a sweet talker, they called him Helou.

The Barakat (meaning Graces ? in Arabic )family is also all over Lebanon, but some Barakat lady is married to a great uncle of mine ( Salomon Dib ) who married her in Tripoli, and moved together to Mexico, where they have over 50 living descendents now.
