I understand that at Ellis Island many names were not recorded correctly as they could not understand many immigrants accents (or languages). My husband's fathers name was Louis Hanna Zeydouni and they wrote it down as Louis John. The translation of Hanna is John. Is your family member's middle name Hanna by any chance? That happened to many, many Lebanese people. I know of a whole family of people named Hanna because they didn't even write down the last name. Hope this helps. Laura
