Denise: Just saw your posting and sorry that I cannot help you in your search, but am asking whether you might be able to help me. For years I have been trying to find out more about great-grandfather Khalil Shipley/Shepley who came from Bcherre (north Lebanon)about 1885 to St. Louis, and later to Seattle and finally Austin, Texas. We know his name was neither Shipley nor Shepley, but it could have been Shibbl/Shibbli/Shibley. As you probably know "p's" come out as "b's" if you have an Arabic accent. Do you know anything about your ancestor's background before he came to U.S.?, and would you be willing to share it with me. Thanks Jack Smith Dallas
