I know how it feels about the language: I'm now trying to learn Arabic and it would have been much easier to "inherit" it as a child!

I'll photocopy some pages of the book that deal with the history of Fiah and some of the earlier families and send them to you. You can then do what I did: get somebody who speaks Arabic and tape the translation, which you can write down later. For more details on your families, we will have to wait to hear from Rafaat Saba. You can send me your coordinates directly to my e-mail address.

There used to be a website about Fiah but it is no longer available. If you want, I can send you some pictures of the place. I'm planning to visit Lebanon (and Fiah) again in July.
