Hi Steven,
It's been so long since I have looked at this website that I did not realize someone else had responded to my question. I'm still not quite sure about Ludubino also being Ludovina, but it is very close. It probably is. People tended to change the spelling and pronounciation of names over time for different reasons. My father's last name is Brito, which I have found is indeed from Portugal as well, so that one is for sure! I was very surprised and delighted to find that I have that in my blood. The portuguese are a very beautiful group, especially when they are mixed with other races. Thanks for your feedback on this subject.
