Thanks for the info, Nelson. I'll tell you all I know about my great grands. Riscalla Zakar married Fareda Najar, but I don't know where or when. Now, I have seen Riscalla spelled in a plethora of ways! The name was mutilated! I have also seen Fareda as Freda. When I spoke to Riscalla's and Fareda's only living child, (my great Aunt) she said that in America, Riscalla went by William. Riscalla had a brother Thomas Zakar. Fareda is the daughther of Hannon (John, in America) Najar and Fareda Stambol. Riscalla and Fareda were born in Syria. Fareda was born 1 April 1892. My Great Aunt also told me that Fareda was one of seven sisters. Two of them were Minnie Najar Pashayan and Rosa: twins, born Feb 1897. Rosa did not immigrate to the US, but she did come here to visit, by ship from the Middle East. She did not remember when, though. My mom said that she remembers Riscalla. She seems to remember that he died in December of 1955, but since it was so long ago, she thinks that her memory could play tricks on her.

I do know that many people from the Middle East put their first names last and their last names first. Since I have seen Zakar as some first names, and Riscalla (including all of it's various spellings) as a last name, that just adds to the confusion. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find Zakar Riscalla!!

Thanks for being helpful, Nelson. It is much appreciated.

Laura
