My greatgrandparents are Christian maronites from St. Maron Church in Jezzin, Lebanon. They lived in Jezzin and came to this country in 1900. My great grandfather George was born in 1886 and my great grandmother Nora was born in 1892. They were the first in America to create Syrian bread which became known as the Quincy Syrian Bakery (Quincy,MA) which has several locations in Quincy as well as in Boston. My great aunt Georgette (their eldest daughter) created what is called today as "Sahara Bakery" and is known world-wide.
