Mehena family from Zahle
Posted by: Sylvia Lutfy Jebaily Date: August 07, 2001 at 15:59:57

I am looking for the family of Michael Khalil Mehena of Zahle. He was married to Miriam Farah. After the death of his wife in childbirth, he left Zahle, along with his infant son, Khalil, in the early 1860's and moved to Aleppo, Syria. In Aleppo, his name became "Michael Jebaily." He was one of many brothers. Apparantly, the descendants of his brothers owned and operated a casino in Zahle named "Casino Mhanna." We believe that the family sold the casino and moved to Beruit, where they may have opened up a new casino. Anyone who has any information on the "casino" Mehena family, please respond.
