The Spanish pronounciation of "Yunez" would exactly match the Arabic sound of the names that you'll find as Younes Younis Yunis in French or English.

It's a family that most probably has branches in both present-day Syria and Lebanon. In Lebanon, I know there is at least one Younes family that is originally from the district of Jezzine (or Jazzine/Jazzin) that is located in the South of Lebanon. There is a large community of Younes's in Latin America.
