Some Zughayb (arabic spelling) are in fact greek orthodox. Their first homeland in Lebanon (coming from Damascus)is R‚chayya al-Fukhkh‚r (in the southe of Lebanon). The shaykh (mayor) of the said city was Ily‚s Jubr‚n Zughayb,in the XIXth century. But the family became greek catholic and some of them are poets et thinkers. They left to Egypt in the beginning of the XIXth century. Michel (de) Zogheb, student in Eton and Lausanne, was et very famous art specialist. Some of them came to France, like Bernard Z. and Henry Z. (19OO-1939),writer in french.
Please note that another Zughayb family is very known too in Lebanon, but they are shia's moslem. Some references consider all these families from the same origin.
