My maternal ancestors are Lahoud, New York State. I'm told the name is quite common in Lebanon.

Have a cousin Joseph Lahoud in Falls Church, Virginia; however, not sure he keeps up with family history.

As an aside, I was led to believe the Lahood spelling was for 'americanisation'... you know how we Yanks are about other peoples names!
