Michael Geha, died approx 1898

My great-grandfather, Michael Geha was born in Greece, moved to Zahle Lebanon then on to this country. I believe that he immigrated to the US and fought in the Spanish-American War and died in it. His wife's name was Anna and he had 3 children: Joseph, Minnie and Marguerite. My dilemma is he is not listed in the SP War records in DC, nor in the Social Security Death index in this country. All records are sketchy, including the fact that his name may be Martin. I have checked death certificates of his children and wife -two say Michael and one Martin. He, of course, has no death records. Any one have any ideas on where I might look next?
