I am just starting my search of the Leavy roots and have very little info to get me started. My maiden name is Leavy, of course. My father's name is Kris Leavy and his father's name was Gerald Leavy. There is a whole Leavy crew in Hawaii. Other than that I know nothing. We don't know what Gerald's parents names were. Gerald was in the military, air force I think and they traveled quite a bit, but I am not sure where they started out. My dad knows very little, as they weren't a close knit family.
On seperate note, my immediate family lives in a small town in Pennsylvania, called Womelsdorf. Buried in the graveyard there is a couple, John and Elizabeth Leavy born in the early 1800's and died early in the 1900's. Imagine our surprise coming all the way from Hawaii to a small unheard of town to find Leavy's in the cemetary. I guess you could say that's what sparked my interest. Any information anyone has about these people would be great.
I am going to try to find more information about my dad's family and post more later.
