Thanks for your reply.

NIMRODLEATHERS born abt 1806 was a son of MARY (not NANCY) SMITHSON and BENJAMIN LEATHERS. MARY was a daughter of MARSON COX SMITHSON whose estate was administered in 1830 by grandson (so identified in Estate papers) NIMROD LEATHERS, who would have been maybe 25 years old at the time.

MARY SMITHSON-LEATHERS had a younger sister NANCY who married JAMES JOLLY and they went to Dalton, Georgia.

This will all be explained with evidence and sources in our coming Book of SMITHSON History.

And yes, the name SMITHSON gets mutilated easily.

Let me know if you are a descendant of MARY SMITHSON and BENJAMIN LEATHERS.
