John William Leazer b. 1806 North Carolina

Traced my family from Texas back to John William Leazer b. 1806 in Rowan County, North Carolina d. 1896 m. Dovina Minerverna Walker. Spent a lot of time looking at Leazer/Leazar clan in Rowan County North Carolina which trace back to John Leazer b. 1753 Pennsylvania d. North Carolina. Can't seem to tie the Texas and North Carolina branches together and also can't get past John Leazer (1753). Wondering if this may be when one of the Leasure/Lazear/etc. spellings changed? Any help out there on either ? Thanks.
