Hello Gloria:

I've been reading the message board postings on the Leasure family name and noticed you were offering to do a look up in Thelma Leasure Marshall's book, "Descendants of Abraham LeSueur, the Hueguenot". I have recently gotten my research as far back as my ggg-grandmother, Belinda/Malinda {Leasure} Metcalf who was living in Ray Co., MO with her husband, Benjamin Wells Metcalf and her children in the 1840 & 1850 Census and as head of household in the 1860 and 1870 Ray County census. He died in 1851. The spelling of her name bounces back and forth between Belinda/Malinda (maybe she spoke with a speech impediment??) I believe her correct name to be Belinda, but have no proof of this. She is supposed to descend from the "Leasures from Virginia" and in truth, does list VA as her place of birth on the censuses.

Could you tell me if this family appears in the book?

Thank you very much,
Bobbie Brune
