Looking for Lear in Bitton Gloucester 1776ish

Please, have been trying nearly 20 yrs but getting nowhere, I have made it back with confidence to John Lear c1776, he married Jane Ward c1777 at St Mary's Church in Bitton, but it seems they came from out of space as there is no one with anything,even though there are 500 plus Lear names in the area at the time, can you help?
