David Leap was a farmer along with his brother,
Andrew Jackson Leap in Boone County, Indiana and both are liste as such in the 1850 Boone County census. David was also a pastor of the Mt. Tabor Primitive Baptist Church in which graveyard holds the grave of John Wesley Leap.

I attended the sesquicentennial service of the church in the middle 80's and can send you a copy of the program if you will send me your address. David's name is mentioned in the program and he may be buried in the cemetery, but I am not sure. I will look next time I visit there--it is only 50 miles from my home.
