Hi,
I'm researching an orphan named Martha Ellen Leeky (she didn't read or write so we have lots of different spellings) She was born 1858 and was believed to be full blood
Native American. We think one of the many Leeky, Leeka, Leakey, Leakie etc. people became her guardian and for what ever reason, sent her to stay with a family in Maryville MO. She appears on the 1870 census there.
I have a web site up with a lot of info that we've accumulated in the past 15 years of research. Lots of pieces we're trying to confirm or eliminate in this crazy puzzle
Would love to hear from any Leakie researchers who might be able to help us confirm or eliminate some of the info and would be glad to share anything we've found along the way.
