In Reply to: Lemuel W. LEAKE m Eliza Adaline GILL 1858 Hempstead County, Arkansas by Linda Leake Amerson of 1052

I have found more information on he Thomas Simmons Family. According to a letter written by Sara Charoleete's brother Sims Dillard; the marriage date of the marriage of Sarah C. Dillard and Thomas Simmons Leake is correct. I don't know where I got the information on Martha Elizabeth Leake ( I can't find any source; but it must have come from a cemetery record. I don't think she was the daughter of Sara C. and Thomas S. Leake. I found a Proof of Death, Heirship and Settlementlof Extate of Thomas Lease,(Leake) deceased in the Howard County Records. Subscribed and sworn to before me this 12th day of January A. D. 1815. By Nancy Williams. It lists children: Sarah A. Leake intermarried to John Russell; Martha D. Leake intermarried with Anthony Hale; M. H. Leake; T. S. Leake; Julia L. Leake intermarried with W. G. Scoggin; Eliza Leake intermarried with Thomas S. Binion; Lemuel Leake, George Leake, Harvey (Weston Hardy who died in the Civil War about 1864) The following named children leaving surviving children and husband or wife; Lumuel died leaving Georgie E. Leake who married J. W. Patterson and Eliza Leake who married D. B. Reagor. That George Leake died leaving as only child Viloa Leake who married A. J. Edwards. The following died with out having married and leaving no issue: Harvey (Weston Hardy) who died about the year 1854.
