Janelle,
I'd run into a brick wall with some of these since I haven't been able to find them on some of the census records nor in marriage, death or cemetery listings. Some of the cemeteries where family is buried haven't been transcribed and put online yet, such as the Temperanceville Cemetery in Howard County, Arkansas, and I haven't been able to find or correspond with but a couple of relatives--Leake descendants. Just finding anyone who knows anything at all has been difficult.
My line is, William Sr., Rev. William Jr., Thomas Simmons, Thomas Sims b Mar 1830, died April 1900, supposedly buried at Buck Range Cemetery, Howard Co., AR, married Susan Bradley, are my great grandparents. (She was the daughter of Bennett and Cynthia Simpson Bradley).
Their son, my grandfather, was William Hardy 'Bill' Leake, 08 Apr 1881-11 Jan 1922, the baby of 9 children all born in Howard County, AR. He died in Bryan County, OK of blood poisoning, and at the time was married to his second wife, Carrie Winchester. His first wife, Willie Jones, daughter of John Wesley and Maryann Chandler Jones, was my grandmother. Willie died in 1910 and is buried in County Line Cemetery, Howard Co., AR with the name LEEK on her headstone. They had three sons together and my father, the baby of the family, Robert Lowell, was born 14 May 1908 in Howard County.
This is some of what I have and you can look it over and let me know how we compare.
Children of Thomas Simmons and Sarah Charlotte Dillard Leake:
Thomas Sims Leake,my great grandfather, was the third child and brother to Martha Elizabeth died age 3 yrs 11 months, John W. died 1 year 8 months, both b and d. in South Carolina, and buried in the Holland-Leak-Adair Burying Ground. Here's what I found on their list of transcriptions.
Leak, John W., son of Thomas and Charlotte Leak (Thomas Simmons and Sarah Charlotte Dillard Leake)
July 18, 1828 - April 6, 1830

Leak, Martha Elizabeth, daughter of above T. & C. Leak
Aug. 20, 1823 - Aug. 16, 1827
(Martha's birthdate and Thomas and Charlotte's marriage date, 10 Nov 1825, don't jive, so it may be a transcription error)?.
Lemuel W. married Eliza Adeline Gill and he died about 1864 in ?,
Moses Hayne born 12 Jul 1834 Laurens Co., SC d 04 May 1913 in Potosi, Taylor Co., TX, buried in the Potosi Cemetery, (married Harriett Ann Lowery 6 Oct 1853 in Bartow Co., Ga. She died between 1859 and 1865 and is buried at the Gray Rock Cemetery, and 2) Mary J. HANNAH 20 Sep 1865 in Taylor County, TX,--(I have her as Mary J. Hannah and another source told me she was Mary J. Binion).
The next sibling of Thomas Sims is Sarah Ann b 1836 in South Carolina, who I believe married John Russell and Thomas Robert Hyde, (no other information except she had a son Thomas Jr.)
George W. born 1839 in Georgia, died and buried ? and who married Lemuel's widow, Eliza Adeline Gill (Leake),
Julia L. born April 1841 Cass Co., GA, married William Gillispie Scoggin, she died 1915 in Arkansas ?, and whom you said is buried in Temperanceville Cemetery in Howard County, AR.,
Weston Hardy born 1843 Cass County, GA, (married Margery Smith) he died in the Army in 1864 at about age 21. I have no information on her and did not find any children listed for them.
On the 1850 Census for Cassville, Cass County, Georgia, enumerated 31 Oct. 1850, Western ( Weston) is listed as 7 yrs. of age. On the next page is a Physician named Western (probably Weston) Hardy. At this point, I am inclined to believe that Western, aka Weston Hardy Leake was named after the Physician who was probably their family doctor--just guessing.
That census index states that the value of Real Estate Owned by Thomas S. Leake is 5,000.
Eliza Eakin b 1846, married Thomas S. Binion 1865 in Hempstead County, AR. according to loose marriage certificates index, (this is where I'd gotten the name 'Bingan' instead of Binion.)
Elizabeth b 1849, (I'm wondering if Eliza Eakin and Elizabeth are one and the same)and
the youngest child was Martha Dillard Leake born 15 Nov 1851, Bartow Co., Ga m. 07 May 1871 Anthony J. HALE b. Tennessee, in Hempstead County, AR. according to Arkansas Marriages, 1820-1949 Record. He was born 07 May 1849 Tennessee and died 14 Nov 1887 and is buried in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Howard Co., AR. He is probably a descendant of C. W. Hale or Andrew Jackson Hale who came with a wagon train from Bedford Co., Tennessee and settled in Howard Co.
Name: Martha O Hale (MARTHA DILLARD LEAKE HALE)
Home in 1900: Center Point, Howard County, Arkansas
Age: 48
Estimated birth year: 1852
Birthplace: Georgia
Race: White
Relationship to head-of-house: Head (WIDOWED)
Occupation: FARMER
In 1900 Martha was widowed, farming and had also lost one daughter, Eliza in 1895. The census indicates that Martha had had 6 dhildren and 5 were still living in 1900. Four of the children were living with her but Lula Lee was not listed and was probably married at that time.
Martha Dillard Leake died in Sickles, OK 06 Nov 1927 just days shy of her 76th birthday. I have six Hale children, all born in Howard Co., Arkansas, but at least three of them died in Oklahoma.
