Hi Dale,
I have an interest in helping you out a little as a volunteer since I have a different Leake line but none of mine came through Missouri. I also thought I'd give you a few search ideas (just in case you didn't know) since I checked your posting history and found that this is your first one and the info you provided isn't enough for me to find a starting place. I do have some of James Rebel Leake's line, 1720 Scotland - 1807 Washington, KY, in my database and much of his line settled in Missouri, Louisiana so there's a chance you might be part of his family. If you will google search James Rebel Leake, or any other name you want to research, you'll find other's postings on rootsweb and genforum boards. Follow those out and contact some of those researchers.
On the Leake Family Genforum search engine start by typing in the most unusual name you have, such as the name of that county, Palmyra, then if nothing comes up, try your grandmother's maiden name, etc. These kinds of searches put you in closer proximity if a message comes up. I tried 'Missouri' and quite a few came up. Also, www.findagrave.com has over one hundred online Leake memorials for Ralls County, Missouri. Maybe you can find a familiar name there or you can post your known Leake burial sites with a little biography and a researcher will find it and possibly contact you. Thre's also www.interment.net. All of the State and County GenWeb sites are good places to search. Just type in Missouri GenWeb or the County, Missouri GenWeb into your search engine.
But for now, how far back can you go with your ancestry? Could you please repost with some specifics such as an estimated date and name or two of someone who is deceased, birthplace, death county, or burial site; do you know your g g'mother or grandmother's maiden names or any other information at all?
Happy hunting and hope I'll be able to help you find what you're looking for.
linda
