Hi,
I am looking for any information on Andrew Leake who married Sarah Dumont. They had a son Peter born 9-14-1770.
The story is that Andrew was apparently born in Scotland and immigrated to New Jersey. Other children were Susan, Catherine, Morgan, Andrew and Peter. There could have been more.
He opened mills in New Jersey, was burned out 3 times during the revolution, twice by the British. THis gave the place the name of Burnt Mills. He went to St. Thomas, West Indies. He died of yellow fever there.
That is all I have. His son Peter had 4 children, Aletta Johnson, Johnson, Catherine Aletta, and Martha. I don't know who he married. It could have been a Martha? Any information or where I should look next would be appreciated.
