LEAHY or WELCH - Syracuse NY 1860 - 18??

Are you a descendant of a Leahy or Welch family who lived in Syracuse, New York between 1860 - 1890...?

In 1861, my 16-year old great-grandfather PATRICK LEAHY came to the US accompanied by his 17-year old cousin ELLEN WELCH. Upon their arrival from Ireland in 1861, they went to Syracuse, Onondaga County, New York.

In the belief that the two went to Syracuse to connect with relatives, I am looking for descendants of Leahy or Welch families who lived there.

My primary search is for Welch family descendants since,I am reasonably certain, that Patrick Leahy had no direct relatives in the US at that time. [I recognize that as first cousins, it's likely that Ellen Welch's mother and Patrick Leahy's father were siblings.]

In my search, I'm compiling a list of persons named Welch from Syracuse city directories and US census reports found online. It's a work-in-progress and I'll share it with others researching their Syracuse Welch families.
