Hello Cathy,
Are you still around?
I have been researching a family recently called Humfrey. They came to Ireland from Essex ca 1650. Two sisters in a branch of the family married two Leader men - possibly brothers. Alma Humfrey married John Leader who was a barrister. Sophia married the Rev William Leader. The grooms' births when you work back from their age in the census returns were ca 1837/8 and both were born in Ireland. The two girls were also the daughters of a 'legal eagle' Alexander Humfrey. I wonder if these two 'Leaders' could be sons of your Leonard Henry who would almost certainly have known Alexander Humfrey in Dublin - they may even have worked in the same legal practice. You can reach me direct at tjohnston(at)iolfree(dot)ie {(at)=@ (dot)=.} N.B.Include the word 'Leader' in the subject field of any email to get it past the spam filter. Looking forward to hearing from you or from your father. Tom.
