Have you tried to get a death record for Jesse? The Greene Co, Ohio county clerk might have one, if he didn't change his name! My brother did but we knew what he went by and when he died it wasn't a problem but I did notify the newspaper (he was murdered) and gave them his correct name. I am sure that was a shock to his ex-wives too!
I will keep looking and see if I can find anything but it is really hard when there are name changes.
