Thanks for the reply. I've seen reference to James' wife being Mary Harmon but I have not been able to locate a marriage record to confirm that her maiden name was actually Harmon. I haven't found a son named Jasper in census records. I am missing 1860 though. Can't seem to locate John and family in that census. I'm guessing Jasper is a son by his second wife, Mary Couch. Based on the 1880 census John and Mary had a son named John, which is interesting since he already had a son named John with his first wife, Ann. Below are the children I show for John Lea based on census records.
