Hi,
Thanks for your reply.I could use some info from you on Joseph Henderson and his wife or wifes.

The book "How I'm Kin To Whom The Lea Family in America" compiled by Martha Lea Hayes Gardner and Richard Gardner states that Joseph Henderson, son of Samuel Henderson, married Lucinda Lea about 1766 and that they had at least two children.
Nancy Anne Henderson who married Larry Bankston and
Sarah Henderson who married John Poteet.

After Lucinda death John Henderson married her sister Adelphia Lea about 1770 and that they had several childen, Mary Henderson who married Israel Miller,
John Henderson who married Hannah Show,
Joseph Henderson, Jr. who married Margaret Reynolds,
Major Henderson who married Polly Strozier in 1799, Isabella Graves Henderson who married Joshua Calloway, and Adelphia Henderson who married Richard Poteet.

This info is also contained in Albert Eugene Casey's book "Amite County, Mississippi" Volume #3.
The following info also is in Gardner's book.
"1773 Joseph Henderson signed petition for separation of Caswell Co. from Orange Co. N.C."

"1789 Joseph bought from his father(Samuel Henderson, Sr. of Caswell Co., 200 acres in Wilkes Co. Ga. Recorded 2 June 1789." According to Casey recorded in Wilkes Co Dd Bk G.G. p4-5

"1792 He received lots 3 &4 in the settlement of James Lea's estate in Casell Co. (James Lea was his father-in-law."

"1799 he gave 4 negroes to his son, Major Henderson" According to Casey reported in
Bk. RR p 289

"1803 he sold 200 acres in Wilkes Co., Ga. (land bought from his father) to Griffin Smith." According to Casey recorded in Deed Bk RR p 517

Casey also states that Joseph Henderson of Wilkes Co was sued by Samuel Henerson of Casell Co. N.C.13 Sept. 1805 (Deed Bk WW p 196

Do your records agree or disagree with this info.

Thanks, Richard
