HI,

Thanks for your reply. The William Lea you speak of was a son of my ancestor, James (Country Line) Lea and his wife, Anne Herndon (N.S.D.A.R,) And you are correct in saying that this William Lea married Nancy Ann Graves.

William Lea's sister, Adelphia Lea (not Lucinda) was married to Capt. Joseph I. Henderson, Sr. and they became the parents of Nancy Ann Henderson who married Lawrence "Larry" Bankston.

I descend from James (CL) Lea and Anne Herndon
Adelphia Lea and Joseph I. Henderson, Sr.
Nancy Ann Henderson and Lawrence "Larry" Bankston and their daughter, Martha Bankston who married Caleb Sappington.

I am thrilled that you reminded me of William's connection - for it explains the many times I find William Lea in such close proximity to my Lawrence Bankston.

That explains William! I am still searching for another James Lea who was still alive in 1797 in Caswell now Person Countyf who had been in NC since 1746 and married to a daughter of Lawrence "Larry" Bankston's grandfather, Lawrence Bankston b. 1704.

Blessings, CF
