Charles Ignatius Lazar and Mary or Mary-Jane Chontos are my great grandparents. According to relatives, Charles was of royalty and lived in Debrecen, hungary. Charles studied to be a priest in Vienna, but left the priesthood and came to the US with Mary (circa 1890). Mary was a peasant girl who spoke Windish, she was abt. 14 years old when they married. They had aprox. 16 children, but only half survived. They lived in Green River, Wyoming - Gary, Indiana - around Monongahela, Pennsylvania - settling in Buffalo, New York. It's possible first or last names have been changed for both. A baptimal record for their son indicates: Lezor and Sontas. Others include: Chontas. If you might have information, please email me. Thank you.
