I'm sorry; I don't know of any actual documentation for the Perry family. Most of what I do have came from census records (interestingly enough, Thomas doesn't show up in his parents' household until he's 17 in the census records--wonder where he was in 1870?) or other people's family trees. I've never been in touch with anyone descended from one of my great great grandfather's sisters before, so that's kind of exciting. My great great great grandfather's will mentions Mary "Polly" Layton Perry as his daughter and left her a little bit of money, but it doesn't mention any of his grandchildren at all. I'm told that the courthouse in Franklin houses a lot of documents such as wills, and the Butler County, Pennsylvania, library was able to make copies of estate records for some other members of my family. Perhaps they have something for you. Here are links to help you: http://www.butlerlibrary.info/ and http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~pabutler/EstateIndex.htm.Good luck with your search; I know finding actual documentation is the hardest part. I live in Reno, Nevada, and I've never been to Pennsylvania at all. If you find more on the Layton side, please let me know, and if I find something, I'll let you know as well.
