Okay anyone who is looking for this i have found interesting infor. The layer's that are associated to us was onced spelled (leer) we come from Scotland area. William O. Layer was born 1866 and married a Lillie layer
They had several childern.
William O. Layer's father was also William Layer (leer) and he is possiably were the name change came from. He or william O. got into some trouble and moved to ark (from MO) and changed the name to (leer) as the story goes. William O. was an only child and his mothers name was Elizabeth Dowdy and William was her fourth husband. I believe that william died when William O. was a boy because in a censu it shows Elizabeth dowdy and William O. as a young boy with his mother and shows her single. Thank you for listening and if anyone is related to us in some way believe email or respond.
Johnna (Layer) Bowker
