Hi jan,got your email. At one time i would have said yes, Charles F Lay is in my line. However, now with the DNA project I'm not too sure. With his connection to Pittslvania VA. I would guess his line belongs to the DNA project's--Blue Group.. (French-Canadian) Do you know of any LAY males from Charles' line who would be willing to test their DNA?
I actually have two Lay lines. My 4th great grandfather "Big Valley Dave" belongs to the Green group and his wife Mary Lay I believe belongs to the Blue group.
Yes, you'll see Jr. and Sr. connected with David Lay (ca 1753) married to Susannah Gibson. When David lived in Pittslvania County he was listed as Jr due to his father David Sr (ca 1730/35) living there. When David moved to Caswell County he is listed as sr.
