I have a Lill, Lillian or Mary E. Lawton born in 1873 in Massachusetts. I believe that they are the same person and perhaps Lill is a nickname. Lill married a Neil F. Doherty and together they lived at 38 Ridgemont Street in Boston. Neil owned a bar in Cambridge and most likely bottled his own whiskey with his name as the label. Lill/Mary E. and Neil had three children. Miriam (Jan 1895), William Gregory (Nov 1897) and Neil (Aug 1899). They may have also had a son named John T. (1900) together. Somewhere between 1910 and 1920, I believe Mary E./Lill passed away because Neil married a Mary A. Condon (b. 1888?) and had two children with her. David A. (1919) and Frances (1922). Family members beileve that Mary E./Lillian Lawton Doherty is probably burried in the Old Calvery Cemetary in the Roslindale section of Boston, but I don't have any information to back that up yet. Does anyone have any information about this family? My line decends from William Gregory Doherty, but no one in the family has any memories of the other children or the Lawton family. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Kerry unionized@comcast.net Notify Administrator about this message?
