I believe Curtis Lawson b. c1818 likely in Hawkins Co., TN, was the son of Clement Lawson b. c1771 Stokes, NC, died 26 March 1867 Pipe Spring, Madison Co., IN. His wife in the census is Mecca/Meccy (nickname for America?) Mnu. She was possibly a second wife. The first child I have for Curtis and Sarah (I have no maiden name) was Martha Patsy in 1841.
Clement last appears in NC on a tax list for Peters Creek, Stokes Co in 1807. He first appears in Hawkins Co., TN in 1810 on Capt. Looney's tax list. Clement last appears in Hawkins Co., TN on 18 Sep 1829 when he sells/transfers land on Richardson Creek to a Thomas Trent. He first appears in Indiana on the 1830 Census in Henry County as "Lauson." He was 50-59 and his wife was 30-39.
