My great-grandmother was born "Louisa LAWSON" but was later adopted by John and Mary Ann SEMPLE. "Louisa" was later known as "Melinda Louisa SEMPLE". In the 1861 census, the family was living in Asphodel Township, Peterborough County, Ontario. "Louisa" was 5 years old and born in Ontario.
The 1891 Canada census indicates that both of "Louisa"'s biological parents were born in Ontario.
I am searching for "Louisa"'s biological family and would greatly appreciate any assistance with this quest. Thank you.
