My main point was that death certificates are just one piece of the puzzle.Don't depend upon them as an "authoritative" source of genealogical information.They are only as good as the informant.Informants were often some elder in the community who was assumed to know about everyone.Even close relatives who might be informants often didn't know the names of their own grandparents.
