Jesse Trent, son of George and Lanny/Lannie Belcher Trent, who was the (reputed) brother of Joseph and Benjamin Trent, married Eliza Davis, the (reputed) daughter of Milum and Francis Martin Lawson, and they had two children.Daughter Mary married Robert Rhea/Ray. Their son Jesse married Mary Bean.Jesse Trent died before 1860 and Eliza Davis Trent then married Andrew Jackson Cobb about 1863 or so, and that is why Mary and Jesse took the name Cobb.Andrew Cobb was the son of Winstead and Nancy Unknown Cobb. The county records suggest that George, Joseph and Benjamin Trent were the sons Alexander Trent and Jane Burton. There is also some suggestion that Joseph Trent may also be the pre-1850 Fields Trent.Jesse Trent Cobb was an attorney first and then an MD.He was grandfathered by the an Act of Tennessee (1889 I think) and the records shows that he was never actually trained as an MD.He learned it all on the job so to speak. He divorced Mary Bean before 1910 and married his housekeeper Ritta Shaw. I can't remember how Guy Chess fits into this. There is an estate settlement involving Mary Bean and other Beans, so it will be possible to track down here ancestry.
