According to the 1910 census, their oldest child, George, was born in Maine. There's a birth record for a male child of John LAWRENCE and Mary L. HOLLOWAY born 28-July-1904 in Bath, ME.You can see the record here:
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1-10124-38040-32?cc=1803978
It lists John's birth place as Arrowsic, ME.
On the 1880 census for Bath, Sagadahoc Co, ME there's this family:
LAWRENCE, Geo. L. age 43 b. ME, both parents b. ME
wife Clara P. age 35 b. ME, both parents b. ME
son John G. age 8 b. ME
dau Hattie age 4 b. ME
dau Abby age 6 b. ME
Arrowsic is also in Sagadahoc Co.
I can only view a transcribed copy of the census, not the actual image. If you haven't checked it before, you might want to confirm that John's middle initial on the image is really a "G"
George L. LAWRENCE married Clara T. OLIVER on 25-Feb-1872 in Arrowsic, ME.Groom's parents were John LAWRENCE and Aurelia KELLEY.Bride's father was Alonzo OLIVER.
