This gets complicated and I have to say has created more questions than answers for me. Hopefully you can enlighten me in some way.
My mothers’ maiden name is Bradford and tracing her line I came to Arthur Bradford b 1852. His father died in 1860 and presumably his mother too as by the 1861 and 1871 census’s he was living with his uncle and aunt Thomas Pink b 1798 and Lydia Swaisland b 1802. This was Lydia’s second marriage as her first was to William Waller (no other details). Lydia’s parents were John Swaisland and Sarah Marshall.
However going back to Arthur Bradford his mother was Harriet Waller d/o John Staples Waller and Harriet (no other information). Harriet Waller had a brother John Swaisland Waller and I can only speculate that their mother was also a Swaisland? Quite what the link between William Waller and Harriet Waller is I don’t know but I can only assume they were brother and sister.
I hope that makes sense but as you can see I’m missing a significant chunk of the puzzle.
