Jay, I am posing my question to you because of Cass & Little River Counties.
In the 1880 Cass Co. census is found:
D.M. Lawrence (fem.), 50, Tn/NC/NC.She is widow of some Lawrence and has five children of her first marriage (_____ Moss was her 1st husband):G. H. Moss, 21, Tn; Henry Moss, 19, Tx; Franklin, 17, Tx; Mary, 15, Tx; & Joseph, 12, Tx.
This is the only mention I have found for this D. M. Lawrence (actually Laurence in the census).Henry (or H. C.) md. in Cass Co. in 1890, and in an autograph book admitted to being a resident of Atlanta, Tx.Frank (F. W.; possibly William Franklin) md. in Ouachita Co., Ark, in 1890 to a Smith girl from Columbia Co., Ark., upon which they moved to Little River Co. before his death in 1893.Joseph (Joe) md. a girl in Little River Co., having two children before he died ~1899.Nothing else is known so far about G. H. & Mary.
As I mentioned: the Lawrence name, as well as Cass Co. & Little River Co. for both of our relatives is in the least interesting.Perhaps there may be some connection.Have you any ideas?
