LAWRENCE FAMILIES of SC>NC>VA

Hi Lisa,
My Great-great Grandmother's name was Elizabeth LAWRENCE Long. She was born in South Carolina in 1821 and was in Ashe County, North Carolina in 1840 married to Levi Morgan Long and had the first of their 9 children, a son named Wilburn. I cannot find a marriage bond for them so do not know where they were married but I believe the date would have been around 1839. "Morgan" Long as he was called, was from Grayson County, Virginia and moved to Ashe Co., NC in the 1830's where his father Samuel Long owned land. Elizabeth, Morgan and baby Wilburn Long moved to Russell County, Virginia a year later in 1941. (In 1856 Russell Co. sub-divided and became Lee County. In 1858 it sub-divived again and area where their farm was became Wise County. The Long family stayed there till late 1863, then moved to Johnson County, Kentucky. I beleive Elizabeth died in 1904 and is buried in the Martin Cemetery at Mt. Sterling, Montgomery County, Kentucky. Elizabeth had a brother named Chapman LAWRENCE that moved out to Oregon in the 1880's. However, I have been unable to locate him in any census records.(This information was found in an old letter.) I'm trying to find out the names of their parents and what county they were born inSouth Carolina. Anyone who knows of a connection here Iwould very much appreciate some help on learning more of the Lawrence family's background. My Uncle was under the impression that they were of English heritage.
Gratefully Yours,
Judy Kenaston Warren
